UPTET Paper 1 is a single-stage, offline examination. Candidates who qualify in this paper are awarded an eligibility certificate, which is a prerequisite for applying to primary teacher vacancies in UP government schools.

Language II (English/Urdu/Sanskrit)	Similar to Language I, this section tests comprehension, grammar, and pedagogy of the chosen language. Unseen Prose or Poetry Passage Comprehension. Grammar: Parts of Speech, Tenses, Active-Passive Voice, Narration, etc. (for English). Pedagogy of Language Development: Similar to Hindi pedagogy.
Mathematics	This section tests basic mathematical concepts and problem-solving skills. Numbers and Operations (Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division). LCM and HCF. Fractions and Decimals. Percentage, Profit & Loss, Simple Interest. Geometry and Shapes. Measurement (Time, Weight, Capacity, Length, Money). Data Handling and Patterns. Pedagogical issues related to teaching Mathematics.
Environmental Studies (EVS)	This is an integrated section covering Science, Social Studies, and Environment. Family and Friends, Food, Shelter, Water, Travel. Things We Make and Do. Q1: Who is eligible to apply for UPTET Paper 1?

Ans: Candidates who have completed their 12th (Intermediate) with at least 50% marks and are in the final year of or have passed a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed / BTC) are eligible. Other equivalent qualifications are also accepted as per NCTE norms.
