UPSC CBI (DSP) LDCE 2025: Exam Overview & Pattern

The selection process for the CBI (DSP) LDCE is a rigorous three-stage process designed to select the most capable candidates. The stages are a Written Examination, a Physical Standard Test (PST), and a final Interview/Personality Test. The final merit is based on the marks from the written exam and the interview.

Numerical Ability: Profit & Loss, Simple & Compound Interest, Time & Work, Speed & Distance, Data Interpretation, Fractions, and Ratios. Computer Proficiency: Basic computer operations, MS Office, Internet usage.
Paper-I: Constitution of India	This section focuses on the Indian political system and constitutional framework. Philosophy of the Constitution: Preamble, Fundamental Rights and Duties, Directive Principles. Union Executive (President, PM) and Parliament. Judiciary (Supreme Court, High Court, Judicial Review). Federalism and Centre-State Relations.
Paper-II: English (Qualifying)	This paper evaluates writing skills and command over the English language. Essay Writing: Topics related to society, economy, environment, and internal security. Comprehension & Precis Writing: Summarizing and understanding given passages. Simple Grammar: Tenses, Parts of Speech, Sentence Correction, etc.
